Extension of the Ontario Regulation 153/04 Sunset Clause

O. Reg. 153/04 sets out the qualifications a person requires to be considered as a qualified person under the regulation. Some of these qualifications are set to expire on October 1, 2006. In a recent decision by the MOE on September 9, 2006, the MOE has amended O. Reg. 153/04, made under the Environmental Protection Act to extend the expiry date for qualified persons for 18 months, to April 1, 2008. The extension will provide additional time for a review of these provisions, and the possible development and implementation of revised requirements for qualified persons.
