In-Plant Air Quality Sampling
CTI has assisted several clients in assessing the quality of air in the their plants. Sampling is conducted to determine the concentration of contaminants at specific locations in the facility to determine the impact of a particular process on the air quality or to determine employee time weighted exposure levels for particular contaminants.
Test programs are initiated to alleviate employee concern with regard to air quality, as demonstration of due diligence on the part of company management or at the request of regulators.
Often sampling is conducted to provide valuable information for the design of exhaust and ventilation systems.
Personal sampling pumps fitted with filters, adsorbent tubes or impingers are used to measure dust, metals, vapours and gases. Instrumentation and detector tubes can be used to obtain on site data for a wide range of gases and vapours.
In most cases, recognised NIOSH sampling procedures are used.
